Victoria Renovations

Alexandre Cunow Wicks

Owner/CEO

Victoria Renovations

Alexandre Cunow Wicks

Alexandre’s original background is Hospitality and Business.

After a decade of working in restaurants and bars, starting 3 small businesses and completing a number of certificates and diplomas at Camosun College, Alexandre ventured into construction. He was offered a job and apprenticeship in the fall of 2014 with John Considine of Considine Construction. For the next 6 years he worked on a variety of residential renovation projects. He was given the opportunity to learn from the ground up learning framing, concrete forming, finishing, site safety, material selection and project management. During those 6 years he completed his Red Seal Apprenticeship Training.

Alexandre secured a Home Builders Warranty License in 2025, which allows Azbowa Homes Ltd. to take on new projects.

Ryan Hamilton

Owner/Construction Manager

Ryan Hamilton

Ryan moved out west over twenty years ago and has never looked back. After a stint as a firefighter, then a professional athlete, he found a career in carpentry. Ryan owned a successful contracting and framing company for years in Vancouver before moving to Victoria and meeting Alexandre. Soon after they started Azbowa Homes together. If he’s not working, he’s either playing with the boys, or golfing, or both at the same time!

Fraser Massi

Carpenter and Metal Fabricator

Fraser Massi

Fraser has been with us since the beginning. His background is steel fabrication which gives him an astute eye for detail.

He is one of the most loyal and honest people we have ever met. He has helped our company direction, takes part in management decisions and is involved in every aspect of the construction process. He is willing to learn and take on any task we throw at him. One of his strengths is overseeing safe work practices so we all go home to our families in one piece. As of 2024 we secured metal fabrication equipment. Fraser is now able to show off his skills in our shop building railings, custom brackets and any other metal works that come our way.

On his time off he enjoys going to the gym, keeping informed on current events and studying philosophy.

Troy Miller

Carpenter/Foreman

Troy Miller

Troy has been part of our team on and off since 2021. Him and Ryan have a long history of working together on the mainland. He has come over to support us on a variety of projects and chooses to make Victoria his second home.

Troy has taken the lead on running all of our smaller projects and providing support on our larger builds when necessary. He is a skilled framer with an affinity for fine finishing. His wide range of experience and skills over the last 30 years makes him an irreplaceable asset to our company.

When he isn’t mastering his craft, Troy is perfecting his BBQing techniques on his charcoal grill.

Respect is at the heart of what we do

It’s the Foundation of Our Team’s Success

It’s not just about earning a living, it’s about working ethically.

We prioritize transparent communication with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. This respect for others means that we have built up close relationships with our subcontractors who work to our high standards.

We consider the  environmental impact for each project and where possible we use sustainable materials, minimize waste, and follow eco-friendly construction practices.

We create safe work environments, train workers, and adhere to safety regulations, reducing accidents and injuries.

About Azbowa Homes

Working with the Community

We have been pleased to able to sponsor the local JDF lacrosse team this season! Community has always been important to us; we work with the Compost Center to bring in wood for them to use for planters and projects for artists etc. We also work with Health for Humanity to donate items wherever possible. Building homes should go hand in hand with building communities.
