We are WCB insured, also:

  • we hold Red Seal Carpentry Certification
  • have full liability insurance
  • all our trades are also licensed and insured
  • we have collaborative partnerships with other builders who hold New Home Builder Warranties Licences (we will have our own by the end of the year).

You call or email us. We discuss the scope of your project. We visit for a preliminary site visit. From there we define the process to get an estimate. On larger projects with several moving parts we charge a preliminary investigation fee which may include design and planning fees before we can offer a fully comprehensive estimate or quote. On smaller jobs we can usually suggest a range of cost before breaking the job down into more detail and creating a refined budget or quote.

This always comes down to scope of work, planning and budget. We try to maximise every moment in a project to ensure it is completed on time. Projects can range from a few days to over a year. We will always break down a project timeline with you and help meet your needs and expectations.

We are happy to offer references to a number of previous clients. Some of our clients would be happy to show you our work, we have a portfolio of pictures we can share or can be seen on our website/social media. We also have two show homes that showcase our expertise and quality.

Changes on a project happen regularly. We try to always keep changes to a minimum unless requested by the client. In each case we have a discussion with the client. If the change will incurre additional costs, materials or labour we will outline the change in a text or email along with an estimated cost. When the change has been approved by the client and a response saying so has been received, we will proceed with the change.

Materials vary greatly depending on the scope of work. We strive to use quality materials, sourced from local suppliers, engineered/fabricated to Canadian Safety Standards and, when applicable, come with their own warranties.

Unless otherwise discussed we do warranty our work, the work of our subcontractors and the materials/fixtures/products we use during your project.

A clean jobsite is a safe job site. We do our best to maintain a safe and organised jobsite. Regular clean ups, dump runs, dumpster swaps and daily sweeps are just some of the things we do to minimise injury and messy job sites. We go above and beyond to protect your home, using poly curtains to separate work areas, floor protection and drop sheets to protect on finished surfaces/products.

Yes! We are a one stop shop. From design to consultation to project management and execution. We are there to support you from inception to completion and beyond. Our experienced team can support you through any project no matter how big or small.

These can vary based on our billing model. Each project has its own unique needs. We typically work on a quoted job price or a Cost Plus price. With quoted jobs and cost plus jobs we typically have a 50% deposit. Our quoted jobs are paid on a draw basis – usually  50% deposit, 25% when we are halfway through, 15% at completion and 10% paid out after all deficiencies have been completed. Any extras will be charged on a bi-monthly basis unless otherwise discussed. Our cost plus starts with the same 50% deposit and then invoiced out monthly or bi monthly depending on the amount of transitions taking place.

We do all of our project management in house. Typically a lead carpenter will be assigned to your project. They will be responsible for the bulk of the project management. Our CEO will also provide project management support for each project and oversee all communication between trades and clients. We aim to do weekly check-ins with our client either in person or by email. Any changes, questions or concerns are always shared in writing to ensure a proper paper trail and clear communication.

We handle all our permits and inspections in house. Our design team is responsible for drafting all permit drawings and applying for the permit. Our construction team is responsible for booking inspections and ensuring all requirements are met.

We always encourage our clients to be honest regarding their budget needs. Knowing the top end of a budget helps us focus the scope of work to fit each individual need.

We are relatable. We are a family based business who want to provide a genuinely good product, in a reasonable timeline at a fair price. We thrive on transparency and will hold ourselves and our team accountable every step of the way. Working with the same trades and suppliers has enabled us to minimise unpredictability and cost overruns. We also offer a few unique opportunities for our clients such as a luxury home that is available to house clients and their families during renovations/relocation projects. Enquire about how this may benefit you during your upcoming project.
